Latah Valley Home Owners Insurance in Jeopardy?
CALV is in the process of gathering information on non-renewal of homeowner’s insurance in the Latah Valley. In the last six months we’ve become aware that a handful of LV (and Indian Trail) resident's insurance carriers (Progressive, Pemco, Amica, The Hartford, etc.) have declined to renew their LV policies - apparently due primarily to wildfire concerns. Documenting the impact to residents by neighborhood and carrier would be helpful in our efforts to promote improved fire protection infrastructure and fire mitigation in the Latah Valley. CALV will use data we receive only to describe the situation. No personally identifiable data will be released. If you have been denied insurance coverage by your carrier, please send the following information to calv195hoi@gmail.com:
Name (preferred but optional) Street address (preferred) or if you'd rather just the street/neighborhood Email address Name of insurance company that terminated homeowners coverage Name of insurance company that provided replacement coverage Was replacement coverage at a higher cost (previous vs new policy)? Marshall Creek Development Hearing
